Understanding Cyber-Currencies and
Money Laundering and the Role They Play in Global Human Exploitation

robbing_you_with_a_keyboard

The global phenomena of gangs using child and adult sex trafficking to generate millions of dollars is driven by one thing —— IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY.

On one of our recent shows, we talked about the SCALE AND SCOPE of organized criminal gangs generating tens of millions of dollars by exploiting people. Prostitution advertising websites use bitcoin to charge for their ads. Gangs use bitcoin to buy and sell on the dark net. Kids use bitcoin to buy virtual tattoos in online gaming. Investors boast glowingly about the amazing investment opportunities with cyber-currency.

BUT WHAT THE HECK IS IT? AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

This week our guest will be Lynn Edgington, Founder/President of Eagle Research Associates, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in Southern California. He is also the author of, “Robbing You with a Keyboard Instead Of A Gun – Cyber Crime How They Do It.”

Lynn works with law enforcement around the globe to assist in cyber-crime investigations involving crypto-currencies and cyber-financial fraud. During this show, we will share with the public key elements to watch out for so you don’t become a victim of cyber-crime. We will discuss the phenomena of bitcoin and the dangers associated with investing in cyber-currencies. We will look at multi-level marketing and ponzi schemes and how unsuspecting corporations and individuals have been victimized. We will look at how organized crime groups use cyber-fraud to launder money.

Join us Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. PST on VOICE AMERICA – Variety Channel as we explore cyber-currencies and money laundering and the role they play in global human exploitation.

Working With The Homeless to Prevent Trafficking and Exploitation

Sam Eitner
Samantha Eitner
Orange County Rescue Mission
Orange County, California

A HOMELESS WOMAN IS AN EXPLOITED WOMAN.

I will never forget chatting with a survivor of sex trafficking. She shared with me about the first night she was homeless. No one told her that a homeless woman cannot sleep at night. She said she was sleeping on a park bench when she was raped.

This week Host Opal Singleton interviews Samantha Eitner from the Orange County Rescue Mission. We will talk about why people are homeless and what can be done about it. We will also explore issues of addiction, unemployment, mental illness and how to create safe housing environments for women with children. And, we will talk about how you can volunteer to help the homeless in your community.

Join us Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. PST on VOICE AMERICA – Variety Channel as we explore how to work with the homeless population to prevent trafficking and exploitation.

Scope and Scale

People often ask if the global epidemic of sexual exploitation is real. Million Kids has been in the “business” of combating adult and child sexual exploitation for nearly ten years now. And the answer is “YES” it is very real. Million Kids is committed to dealing with facts not drama. While trafficking is NOT occurring on every street corner, there is a very real threat to the safety and sanctity of the most vulnerable in our society.

What is disturbing is the frequency of cases being brought to the court system, the number of perpetrators, and the number of victims in each case. In the early days, we would often see one pimp with two to five victims in a case. Today, it is not unusual for a case to be comprised of eight to thirty perpetrators exploiting dozens, even hundreds of victims covering many cities and states in the U.S.

What is the difference? Organized criminal activity, cyber communities and social media use in recruitment. This week we will look at a wide variety of cases to understand the epidemic known as human exploitation. We will also explore these cases from a law enforcement perspective as to what it takes to build a case and prosecute the perpetrators. Human Trafficking is the fastest growing crime in the U.S. and it will take a serious financial and human commitment to stop this scourge in our communities!

Join us Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. PST on VOICE AMERICA – Variety Channel as we explore the SCOPE AND SCALE of human trafficking in the U.S.

Meghan Breanna Alt
Former Mrs. Orange County Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

SPECIAL REBROADCAST!
Female Perpetrators: The Role of Women in Child Sexual Exploitation

Part 2 of 2
(Original air date 12/8/16)

It is a well known fact that women and children are the most exploited victims of sexual exploitation. No doubt about it.

What most of society does not recognize is the significant number of cases where women are the perpetrators. Approximately 60% of cases posted on the Million Kids Facebook Page involve a female as a perpetrator. Surprisingly, many females are involved with child pornography. Sometimes, the perpetrator is the victim’s own mother.

In sex trafficking cases, the woman often acts as a “bottom girl,” who does the recruiting, training, marketing and management of the girls being exploited. In some instances, the “bottom girl” is as severely abused and exploited as the victims. In other instances, she is a hardened sociopath, who inflicts a more severe punishment and exploitation than the males involved in sex trafficking rings.

Join us Thursday, November 23, 2017 at 7:00 a.m. PST on VOICE AMERICA – Variety Channel as we explore several cases where the female is the perpetrator. We will examine large-scale Asian and Latin American sex trafficking rings led by women, as well as individual cases where women aggressively exploited victims of child sex trafficking. We will look at cases where women were prosecuted for producing and/or collecting large libraries of child pornography. We will try to understand the psychological aspects of female-dominated exploitation and the impact on the victim. We will also explore if there is a different standard of sentencing when the perpetrator is a woman.

CAR-sextrafficking

African Wildlife Initiative Counter Poaching Operations in Africa: Saving Children From Sex Slave Traffickers While Saving Elephants From Extinction

with special guests, Randy McKinney, Founder, and Rachel Gustafson, Executive Director, of African Wildlife Initiative

Randy McKinney is the founder of African Wildlife Initiative. In the Central African Republic, terrorist groups are targeting children, kidnapping them for use in the sex trade and as child soldiers. These same groups are also poaching elephants to finance their exploits. AWI is an Alaska-based organization working to protect and rescue children and elephants by training and supporting local people in CAR to defend their communities. Randy founded AWI and leads efforts on the ground in CAR. He is currently living in Alaska and available for speaking engagements.

Because of the dangerous political and social environment in CAR, it’s impossible for foreigners to enter the Central African Republic without special permission from the highest levels of government. The type of person who can and will go needs to be uniquely qualified and prepared. Randy is one of few men who can pull it off, equipped by his experience in law enforcement and as former CEO of an international security company. He is also a pilot and a doctor who has senior level management experience working in remote locations engaged in large-scale construction and mining projects often on the African continent.

Mr. McKinney has been contracted by the European Commission-supported organization, Ecofaune, to provide air support for their counter poaching operations located in a 41,600 square mile region of the northern and eastern part of the Central African Republic. As a result, he is positioned to do what few people in the US would consider plausible, let alone possible- to rescue children from the grips of slavery, mutilation and death and train others to do the same.
