Societal Shift Trends:
The Evolution of Teen Technology and Exploitation

This week we are going to look at how communication, relationships, and sexual exhibition has changed based on new technologies. For one-to-one conversations, it started with email then moved to texting. Facebook followed and we began to choose who would be our “friends” and “unfriended” the undesirables. Today, most teens would die of embarrassment using either email or Facebook. In fact, less than 5% of Facebook users are teenagers.

Soon technology evolved into instant messaging apps such as Kik, WeChat, and WhatsApp. As these became the norm, apps like Line, Viber, and Skype offered free calling with video and group chat. Immediate interactions were accelerated on a global scale with Instagram, Facebook Messenger and Snapchat, all of which became enormously successful and popular with teens.

All of these technologies changed how teens communicate. They formed online local communities with group chats. Even today many teens are using Tango, which has a four-mile geo-based function to talk with strangers near their home. It is a favorite of gangs in some communities. Whisper was an app that kids used to tell their secrets believing it is safer to tell strangers than to tell their own friends (go figure).

Chat Roulette and Omegle, where kids can meet total strangers while sitting in their bedrooms unsupervised, brought mass audience individual live-streaming and video chat rooms. And, mobile device face-time technology literally tore down the walls of our homes while teens conducted the most intimate of acts at any time to be shared with any one.

Finally, we encountered encrypted messaging, disappearing video, ghost apps, vaporware and the dark net. And, even more recently, we have mass-audience live-streaming apps such as Live.Me and Tik Tok where kids perform in front of potentially millions of strangers.

Each of these apps has given pedophiles and predators access to groom, recruit and exploit our kids. THE WORLD HAS DRAMATICALLY SHIFTED IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS. All a pedophile has to do is sign up for the app and wait.

VIDEO: Tik Tok App Raises Concerns for Young Users (WSPA 7News)

TIK TOK:
THE WORLD’S MOST DOWNLOADED APP

Kids love it. Parents are oblivious. Sounds like a game so kids as young as 9-years-old are playing on it. The parental warning is that you need to be 16 to use it, and nobody seems to either understand or care. Follow Million Kids on Facebook and you will see it is fast becoming one of the most used apps by pedophiles and predators. SO WHAT IS IT?

Recently, Tik Tok surpassed Facebook for number of users globally. It is owned by Chinese firm, Bytedance, headquartered in Singapore. Tik Tok bought Musical.ly about six months ago and surged to become the favorite app of young kids around the world. Facebook is now fighting back with “Lasso” that has similar features but with the added ability to share your Lasso videos on Instagram and Facebook. This means your child can reach thousands perhaps millions of total strangers. These technologies will change our world so PAY ATTENTION MOM AND DAD!

Tik Tok offers the ability to make short videos with music, stickers, filters and other special effects. It is the worlds most far reaching chat site. It is, in essence, live streaming on steroids. There are only two privacy settings: Private or Public. The ONLY reason most kids are on Tik Tok is to reach thousands of people and become famous or discovered. In pedophile vocabulary, this is called “available and vulnerable.”

It should also be noted that Tik Tok uses a CHILD’S FACIAL RECOGNITION to detect facial expressions. Kids think this is really cool because they can add special effects to make them look funny or cute. But, what no one is saying is whether this facial recognition is being stored or if it will later be shared as user data, which is often done through artificial intelligence.

Million Kids President, Opal Singleton, says in her presentations that this technology “will change our world for young children.” It will change how kids communicate, how they perceive relationships, how they perceive sexual exhibitionism, and how they interact with strangers. Pedophiles no longer have to track down and seduce our kids. Our kids are eagerly twerking and posing on the world wide marketplace AND THEY ARE SEEKING the approval of the massive audience they are reaching with little or no thought if those recipients are pedophiles looking to seduce and groom innocent young people. All a pedophile has to do is sign up to Tik Tok and wait.

THIS IS A POWERFUL SHOW THAT YOU WILL NOT WANT TO MISS. READ IT, SHARE IT, DOWNLOAD IT AND PAY ATTENTION. This is not just another app. This app could change your life and your child’s life BEFORE you are even aware it exists. Tik Tok, Tik Tok, Tik Tok… BOOM!

Neighborhood Massage Parlors: Legitimate Business or Front for Sex Trafficking?

The recent arrest of the New England Patriots owner, Robert Kraft, is bringing to light the sordid underground world of local neighborhood massage parlors where women from China, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and other countries are lured to the U.S., often with legal visas, with promises of a better life, and then forced into modern day slavery by human traffickers.

The Orchids of Asia Day Spa, where Mr. Kraft allegedly solicited prostitution, is now the focus of a large-scale sex trafficking investigation by the Jupiter (Florida) Police Department. The investigation was triggered by “numerous complaints” by concerned citizens, as well as online reviews.

According to police, the victims averaged eight clients a day. They were forced to live in the spas for days, sometimes months, “for the purpose of sexual servitude.” Many of them came from China on temporary work visas, believing they’d get legitimate jobs in the U.S. The police did not identify the number of women considered to be victims in the trafficking ring.

And now, authorities have charged at least 173 people with crimes, including human trafficking and soliciting prostitution. Six people are charged with running the ring.

Could this be happening in your neighborhood?

[SEX TRAFFICKING AND SOCIAL MEDIA EXPLOITATION]

Thousands of kids each year are victimized through sextortion, social media exploitation, sex trafficking and child pornography. And, technologies such as encrypted messaging, instant messaging apps (like Facebook messenger and KIK), disappearing video (like SnapChat and Instagram), live streaming (like Tik Tok, Omegle and live.me), dating sites (like My LOL, Crush Zone, MeetMe, and Grindr), online gaming chat rooms (like GTA, Fortnight, Minecraft, and World of Warcraft), and ghost apps (like Calculator and Burn Notes) provide a technology-freeway for predators to access, groom, recruit and exploit our children.

So who are the most vulnerable victims?

  • Foster, homeless and runaway kids
  • Pregnant teens
  • Sexually active teens
  • Kids from broken homes; single parent households; kids being raised by grandparents
  • Kids with low self esteem
  • Kids who associate with gangs
  • Deaf kids
  • High-functioning autistic kids
  • LGBT kids
  • Affluent kids
  • Pre-pubescent children who are allowed online (including online games)

Purchase Societal Shift: A World Without Borders… A Home Without Walls and Seduced: The Grooming of America’s Teenagers for only $32.00

THE POWER PACK: 2 BOOKS + 2 WRISTBANDS

2019Power Pack Deal smallTHE POWER PACK INCLUDES:

  1. “Societal Shift: A World Without Borders… A Home Without Walls”
    (retail $18.99/Released January 2019)

The year 2020 will be the most important time in all of history. For the first time ever, the entire world will be connected by technology. Over SIX BILLION people coming together in ways never before experienced. It will indeed be a SOCIETAL SHIFT.

Think about this. Researchers say that 87% of teens sleep with their phone. A world without borders for our children is also a world without borders for pedophiles, predators, pimps, cartels and other organized criminals. That means while you are sleeping bad guys can access your children.

New technologies are introduced to us every day without instruction or warnings about how predators may use them to exploit children. While most kids will survive with minor injury or exploitation, we are playing roulette with their lives. Thousands of kids each year are victimized through sextortion, social media exploitation, sex trafficking and child pornography. And, new technologies such as encrypted messaging, disappearing video, vaporware (live streaming), cryptocurrencies, virtual reality, animation, artificial intelligence and the dark net provide a technology-freeway to access, groom, recruit and exploit our children.

THIS BOOK IS BASED ON REAL CASES and is ideal for parents, educators, civic leaders, first responders and young people.

  2. “Seduced: The Grooming of America’s Teenagers”
    (retail $15.99/Released 2016)

This book examines real cases to illustrate how predators use social media and online gaming to access, groom, recruit and exploit teenagers into sex trafficking, sextortion and exploitation.

Opal Singleton is President and CEO of Million Kids and Training and Outreach Coordinator for Riverside County Anti Human Trafficking Task Force. Opal trains thousands of government agencies, school administrators, corporations, civic groups and faith based organizations about how to prevent human trafficking. She sits with parents of missing kids and talks with teens who are being “Sextorted” with a naked photo. Sometimes the young people are coerced or forced into prostitution. This is human trafficking and it is the fastest growing crime in the U.S. Opal has recognized a disturbing trend. Each encounter with a stranger, every illicit photo represents an opportunity for exploitation. With advancing technology violence and sex can be portrayed in ways that parallel reality. The result is a generation of “Desensitized Teenagers”. We are at a unique time in history. We have a generation of teens who have never NOT known the Internet and parents that are techno-phobic. Parents give kids devices that open the door to over a million predators that can influence a child’s thinking on morality, spirituality and sexuality while they are competing for approval in a fantasy world. Apps, social media and online gaming allow ACCESS, GROOMING, RECRUITMENT AND EXPLOITATION of our young people by total strangers. This book is not just an Internet Safety program. It is a parent and grandparent empowerment tool. IT IS REAL. IT IS EYE OPENING. IT COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE AND THE LIFE OF YOUR FAMILY!

MEN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE IN COMBATING SEX TRAFFICKING

TLA-MSAT-group-night-1024x683

All too often we only think of men as culprits in the war on sex trafficking. However, many men are warriors who are making a difference.

This week we will talk with Patrick Erlandson, a member of the Long Beach Human Trafficking Task Force, and Jeremy Greening, father and advocate, both of these men are leading the fight against trafficking by decreasing demand and recognizing the connection between pornography and prostitution.

We will discuss many critical issues related to sex trafficking including the apathy of fathers, the sexual numbing down of our society, and ways that real men can make a difference. Patrick and Jeremy are two men who have the knowledge and expertise to help other men find creative and effective ways to get involved and stop sexual exploitation.

Join us Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 7:00am PST on Voice America Variety Channel or access the archived show on ExploitedCrimes.com as host, Opal Singleton, talks about the impact men can have in the fight against trafficking.

Jeremy Greening Headshot-1Jeremy Greening

As a homeschooling father of eight, Jeremy believes strongly in community and improving our world for the next generation. He currently serves as Global Alliances Marketing Director for Dell EMC and is an expert on leadership, teamwork, and building & maintaining ethical business relationships with all partners, managers, and executives.

Just as comfortable with C-suite communications and strategy as working on the front lines, Jeremy is passionate about finding Biblical solutions to society’s most pressing problems.

Jeremy demonstrates a passion for improving the lives of those around him through area revitalization efforts as a real estate investor and raising awareness for pressing social issues including right to life and human trafficking.

He volunteers with Rebirth Homes, a faith-based non-profit organization that delivers a holistic healing program for victims of sex trafficking covering their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. Jeremy’s particular area of focus in the ministry is decreasing demand for the sex trade by connecting the dots between pornography, prostitution, and trafficking and encouraging men to take a leadership role on combatting this.

Jeremy graduated cum laude from American Intercontinental University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.

patrick_erlandsonPatrick Erlandson

About six years ago, Patrick Erlandson joined the Long Beach Human Trafficking Task Force (LBHTTF) to spread awareness of trafficking. But, he said, more was needed.

“Men are critical to solving the issue,” Erlandson said. “As long as women remain the focus of trafficking, not much will happen… Without changing the sense of entitlement with men, nothing will happen.”

The idea led Erlandson to start the Long Beach branch of Men Standing Against Human Trafficking (MSAT). MSAT is a Southern California program by Faith Initiative to Abolish Trafficking (FIAT). He created the group to help solve a big piece of the puzzle, adding men.

Patrick has been married to his very patient wife for 36 years, lived in Japan for 8 years, has two daughters, the younger of whom was approached by “modeling recruiters” in the Del Amo fashion mall. Patrick worked for 2 years with the refugee agency of UNHCR in Los Angeles where he first learned about organ trafficking and child soldiers which led him to investigating the issue of domestic human trafficking. His priority has always been on prevention which is why he feels we need to address pornography and fathers.
